This year’s Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Animal Science Students or often referred to as TIMPI (Indonesian: Temu Ilmiah Mahasiswa Peternakan Indonesia) was held at the Universitas Padjadjaran Campus, Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency. Held from 1 September – 6 September 2023 with the number of participants reaching 155 animal science students from 24 universities in Indonesia.

This Scientific Gathering for Animal Science Students is a prestigious event that is eagerly awaited by animal science students at all universities in Indonesia. This activity carries the theme of the Role of Animal Science Students in Realizing SDGs Without Hunger and World Food Storage 2045 with the hope that Indonesian animal science students can develop creativity and innovation in the fields of animal science and agriculture. Apart from that, it is also able to produce ideas and solutions that can help increase the productivity and efficiency of the livestock and agricultural sector in Indonesia.

            Universitas Diponegoro sent 7 delegates who joined in 3 competitions, namely the National Animal Science Debate, National Scientific Writing Competition (Indonesian : Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah Nasional, LKTIN) and Livestock Judging. Of the three competition branches, the LKTIN Team led by Rizki Ibnu Awwalin achieved extraordinary achievements, by becoming 1st place in the Nastional Scientific Writing Competition, beating 15 teams from different universities. “Thank God, in this Scientific Writing Competition we succeeded in winning first place. I feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride because I can make Universitas Diponegoro proud on the national stage,” said Rizki Ibnu Awwalin as head of the LKTIN Team.

This was also conveyed by Abdullah Maulana Fakih as Chair of the Animal Science Undergraduate Student Association who accompanied this activity directly. “I am very happy and proud because the students were able to take part in the TIMPI and get their best achievements. I hope that activities like this will become an event that can facilitate animal science students to achieve various achievements”.  Head of Bachelor of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Ir. Rudy Hartanto, M.P., Ph.D., IPM. also expressed congratulations and thanks for the efforts of the LKTIN Team (Muhammad Aryo Prastowo, Rizki Ibnu Awwalin, Sanjaya Mada Radjasa) and Supervisors (Ir. Daud Samsudewa, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D.), while also hoping for more students who dare to take part in the competition and make the name of the Animal Science Study Program proud.
